Abstract

The Mended Hearts is a national nonprofit organization that is comprised of
more than 280 chapters across the country. Each chapter consists of members
that have dealt with heart complications in the past and would like to 
offer the gift of hope to current heart disease patients, their families, 
and caregivers through visiting programs, support group meetings, and 
educational forums. For this project, I created a website for the newly 
adopted Riverside chapter. My objectives were to make a well structured, 
highly informative, low maintenance, low cost, appealing website that 
contains upcoming information for current members as well as information 
for prospective members. Considering the chapter relies heavily on member 
attendance and participation my primary goal was to offer the chapters 
registration form as well as information to people throughout the city so 
that they could easily join the chapter from the comfort of their home. In
my presentation I will discuss the use of search engines, the chapters 
parent site, the use of twitter, and display the website.
